Our Story

Realizing an entrepreneurial vision.

Hoffman & Associates uses imagination and sound thinking to create new, innovative and inclusive urban communities. Since 1993, we’ve developed mixed-use, residential, office and retail communities across the Washington metropolitan area.

We work hard to earn our reputation as a leading real estate developer, with a passion for enhancing neighborhoods and designing high-quality mix-use spaces. This requires experience. The boldness to take necessary risks. An approach that harnesses the best in all disciplines. An openness to learn.  And a collective determination that our developments deliver value to all and serve both existing and new communities.

We continue to learn, grow, and improve. And we’re excited to bring our innovative and inclusive approach to development to new regions, providing the opportunity to shape cityscapes, connecting people and lifting the human spirit.

.

Our Mission

The bold pursuit of creating inspirational design and building communities that raise the human spirit and enhance the way we socialize, work, and live.

  • Partnerships

We understand that we don’t operate in a vacuum. That’s why we collaborate closely with stakeholders on each project. And we are proud of our amicable relationships with other real estate developers, architects, builders, as well as government entities, special-interest groups and members of the communities we serve.

  • Process

We are thoughtful risk takers who utilize trends and work with our partners to create inclusive communities that bring people together and deliver value to all. Our success derives from our attention to detail and our dedication to creating spaces with passion and purpose.

  • Community Involvement

While real estate is what we do, we think of ourselves as being in the people business—and as such we have a strong commitment to corporate social responsibility. Beyond a wide variety of charitable activities, we give back through civic engagement to shape the future of the communities in which we work and live.

  • Sustainability

Hoffman & Associates is a market leader in sustainability. We built the first LEED® Certified residential high-rise in DC, The Alta, and continue to lead the way with innovative solutions using the latest environmentally friendly techniques. We believe this is not only the right thing to do for our people and our planet; it’s also a good long-term business strategy.

  • Inclusivity

At Hoffman & Associates, our diverse team of dedicated and innovative professionals are committed to creating spaces that are inclusive and deliver value for all. This principal is reflected in the cultural fabric of our company, our diverse team and our commitment to the communities we serve.

Offering experience and
forward thinking.

Our reputation as a dependable partner comes from our holistic approach to every project we take on, focusing first and foremost on the communities we serve to create spaces for all.
